Payne Education Center Announces Summer Training Schedule

Posted by Ashley Watts on 04/17/2015

Oklahoma City – With the school year coming to a close and summer fast approaching, teachers from across the state are preparing to attend Payne Education Center’s summer training.

Each year, Payne hosts a variety of trainings focusing on the learning needs of struggling readers from age 4 to adult. Teachers who receive Payne’s specialized training learn to clearly recognize potential reading problems in their students at a young age, and they are trained to provide a strong, successful reading solution.  Payne trains teachers in scientifically based teaching methods that can help children overcome their reading difficulties; these methods are especially crucial for the 1 in 5 children who has dyslexia, a neurologically-based reading and language learning difference, which affects their ability to successfully develop strong reading skills.  Since 1984, Payne has trained more than 18,000 teachers in scientifically based teaching methods that can help children overcome their reading difficulties.

“Payne Education Center’s training is invaluable.  The skills, insights and strategies I have learned from this training have prepared me to personally address and cater to the needs of each individual student,” said Melissa Daigle, 1st grade teacher at Owasso Public Schools. “The confidence I have gained from Payne’s teacher training will absolutely bring about positive, effective change in my students reading abilities.”

Payne will offer trainings in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Tahlequah, McAlester and Ada to accommodate the overwhelming number of teachers who are interested in becoming strong, educational forces in the classroom so that they can empower students to be successful, competent readers, writers and spellers.
