Payne Education Center Releases Teen Board Application

Posted by Ashley Watts on 08/07/2015

Payne Education Center announced applications are now available to be considered for Payne’s Teen Advisory Board.  The main purpose of the Teen Board is to develop young adults into community activists, and provide each member with the opportunity to better understand how a nonprofit functions. Just as last year, the Teen Board’s primary focus will be planning and executing Payne Brain Games─ Payne Education Center’s annual trivia night fundraiser supporting increased literacy efforts in Oklahoma.  Teen Board members will serve a 7 month term, beginning in October and finishing up in April.

“Board Members are such a vital part to any nonprofit.  By implementing a Teen Board, we hope to pave the way for these young adults to realize their value within the community,” said Debbie Jones, Payne Education Center Board Chair. “These teens are the future of our organization and we’re excited to help them flourish into successful advocates.”

Payne Education Center’s Teen Board members are young men and women who apply and are selected on an annual basis to serve for an academic year. When Teen Board members graduate from the program, our hope is that they continue to lead local efforts in support of Payne Education Center’s mission, and to help ensure that no child struggles to read.

If you or someone you know is interested in applying for Payne’s Teen Advisory Board, please visit www.PayneEducationCenter.Org/TeenBoard or contact Ashley Watts, Special Projects Coordinator, at [email protected].
